Researchers in this case had spent years trying to figure out the best foods for refueling. While they did that, they discovered that more importantly, any carb sooner was better then waiting for the best carohydrate. So fueling up in between heats ie: the gel idea, or right after a heat is the best.
... as you did: fuel often and lots . i liked soy milk after my runs, kept in in the locker at the gym runnign indoors in the winter:rehydration and carbs when you not hungry for a plate of spaghetti.jeff E of the Great White Northhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01315207761916573472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899182854594309129.post-63956953691429383732008-10-12T05:11:00.000-07:002008-10-12T05:11:00.000-07:00Hey anonymous-Deciding what board to race for the ...Hey anonymous-
Deciding what board to race for the season is a personal preference that must be made by looking at the time you can spend testing the board (as well as your learning curve + availability to get new fins that match the board) and the probable racing conditions. Sometimes Its best to stay with what you know works but if you are willing to risk taking a chance that might lead to an improvement in your sailing, ou could end up at the top of the fleet in the right conditions.
Good luck!USA-4 Steve Bodnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15335819825435711123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899182854594309129.post-56726336944941436782008-10-11T23:17:00.000-07:002008-10-11T23:17:00.000-07:00Can't decide should I stay on FX VI the next year,...Can't decide should I stay on FX VI the next year, or change it to Z.
I.m 78 kgAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899182854594309129.post-20554415408593083222008-09-29T03:48:00.000-07:002008-09-29T03:48:00.000-07:00Hi Anonymous-Regarding energy supplements- I norma...Hi Anonymous-
Regarding energy supplements- I normally mix CytoMax or something similar into my water bottle and camelback (while racing.) Its a prepackaged powder mix that helps in adding calories, replacing carbs, and electrolytes.
I follow the recommended dosage.
Also the energy gels work good on the water if you cant make it into shore between races as a quick boost in energy and reducing lactic acid burn.
Carb loading includes eating lots of breads, cereals, and pastas- as much as you can!!USA-4 Steve Bodnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15335819825435711123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7899182854594309129.post-46821087578807901332008-09-28T22:35:00.000-07:002008-09-28T22:35:00.000-07:00"I was making a point to stay fueled with extra lu..."I was making a point to stay fueled with extra lunches every day + a minimum of 4 liters of water (and energy supplements) throughout the day Putting more protein into my diet, helped tremendously in terms of recovery. .... Also carb loading the night before and immediately after racing helped in preventing fatigue and aiding recovery.

Nobody talks too much about recovery, but it is very important participating in week long events. Can you share an information about "energy suplements" you have used during the day, and "carb loading" night before and after racing? What products, doses, what is the effect of products, etc.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
